SMS Messaging Terms — Tapchair
Effective September 1, 2026
This page describes Tapchair's text messaging program. It is referenced from our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Program name
Tapchair — appointment and account notifications.
Who sends the messages
Messages are sent by Tapchair LLC, a Texas limited liability company, on behalf of the barbershops, salons and independent barbers ("operators") who use our platform.
Every message identifies both: it begins with the operator's name followed by ours, for example:
What we send
Transactional messages only. We do not currently operate a marketing messaging program.
- One-time passcodes used to sign in or verify a phone number
- Security alerts about changes to an account
- Appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellations and reschedules
- Payment receipts
- For operators: booth-rent notices and payout notices
How you opt in
You provide your mobile number and verify it with a one-time passcode when you book an appointment or create an account. Completing that verification is your consent to receive transactional messages about your own appointments and account.
Consent is never a condition of purchase. You can book by contacting the business directly, and declining messages does not affect the service you receive.
Marketing consent, if we ever offer it, is a separate and unchecked opt-in. It is never bundled with the consent above.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on your activity. A typical appointment generates up to four messages: a confirmation, up to two reminders, and a receipt.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Tapchair does not charge you for messages. Your mobile carrier's standard rates apply.
HELP
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at support@tapchair.app.
STOP
Reply STOP to any message to stop all messages.
Two things to know about how we handle STOP:
- It applies across every business on Tapchair, not only the one that messaged you. One STOP stops everything.
- It stops all messages, including one-time passcodes used to sign in. If you use a Tapchair account and you text STOP, you may be unable to receive a sign-in code. Reply START to resume messages.
Quiet hours
We do not send appointment or account messages between 9:00pm and 8:00am in your local time. One-time passcodes you request yourself are the exception — those are sent when you ask for them.
Supported carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
