Terms of Service — Tapchair

Effective September 1, 2026

These terms govern your use of Tapchair, operated by Tapchair LLC, a Texas limited liability company. By using Tapchair you agree to them.

1. What Tapchair is, and what it is not

Tapchair is software. It gives barbers, stylists and shop owners a booking page, card and cash checkout, tipping, payouts, and automated booth rent between a shop and the barbers who rent chairs in it.

Tapchair does not cut hair and is not a party to the service you book. The appointment is an agreement between you and the operator. The operator sets their own prices, hours, service menu, and cancellation and no-show policies. Tapchair collects payment on the operator's behalf and passes it to them.

Tapchair is not a marketplace. We do not list businesses to consumers, we do not match clients with providers, and we do not take a commission on bookings. Operators bring their own clients.

2. Accounts

Operators. You must be at least 18 and legally able to run a business. You are responsible for the accuracy of your service menu and prices, for your own tax obligations, and for the lawfulness of the services you provide. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Clients. You do not need an account to book or pay. If you create one, keep your phone number current — it is how you sign in.

We authenticate by one-time passcode sent to your mobile number. There are no passwords. Keep control of your number; tell us at support@tapchair.app if you lose it.

3. Payments, and who pays what

Clients pay the service price plus any tip they choose, and nothing else. Tapchair charges no booking fee, service fee, or convenience fee to a client, at any time, under any name. This is a permanent commitment, not current pricing.

Operators pay Tapchair:

Standard payouts are free and are never delayed to encourage instant ones.

Payments and payouts are processed by Stripe. Operators also agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Tapchair does not hold operator funds; money settles from Stripe to the operator's own connected account.

100% of every tip goes to the operator who performed the service. Tapchair takes nothing from tips.

4. Cancellations, no-shows and refunds

The operator sets these policies, not Tapchair. The policy in force is shown to you before you book and is recorded with your appointment, so what applies is what you actually saw.

Refunds are issued by the operator through Tapchair. Disputes about a service are between you and the operator; we will provide both of you the transaction record.

5. Booth rent

Where a shop and a barber agree booth rent through Tapchair, we facilitate the transfer by ACH on the schedule they agree. Tapchair charges neither party a fee for rent. The rent agreement is between the shop and the barber; we are not a party to it, do not set the amount, and do not guarantee payment.

Rent is reported as paid only once funds have settled. Bank returns can occur days after a debit.

6. Text messages

By providing your mobile number and verifying it you consent to receive transactional text messages. See our SMS Messaging Terms](/sms) and [Privacy Policy. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to stop.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Tapchair to: break the law; process payments for anything other than the services you actually provide; test stolen card numbers; misrepresent who you are; send messages to people who have not consented; scrape or resell our data; or interfere with the service.

Operators must not use Tapchair to collect payment for goods or services prohibited by Stripe's Restricted Businesses list.

We may suspend an account that we reasonably believe is doing any of the above.

8. Your content and data

You keep ownership of your business information, service menu and client records. You grant us the licence needed to operate the service for you.

If you leave, you may export your data. We retain financial records as described in our Privacy Policy — deletion is by anonymization, because a business's books must survive a client's departure.

9. Availability

We aim to keep Tapchair available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we make a material change that harms a paying operator, we will give reasonable notice.

10. Disclaimers

Tapchair is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant the quality, safety, legality or licensing of any service booked through Tapchair. That is between you and the operator.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tapchair's total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid Tapchair in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; where that is so, they apply to the extent permitted.

12. Indemnity

Operators agree to indemnify Tapchair against claims arising from the services they provide, their cancellation and no-show policies, their tax obligations, their messages to their own clients, and their breach of these terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using Tapchair at any time; operators may cancel a subscription effective at the end of the current billing month. We may terminate an account for breach of these terms or where required by law or by Stripe.

Payouts of funds already earned are not withheld because a subscription lapses.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to venue there.

15. Changes

We will post any change here and update the effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes affecting paying operators will be notified in advance.
